About

Then: broadcast journalist. Now: Editor at http://SumAll.org. And: podcaster, technologist, and zombie apocalypse survivalist.

Background:
I am an experienced digital platform producer and broadcast reporter.
Currently:
SumAll.org is a not-for-profit organization that applies data analysis tools to social good projects. I work with a team of data analysts and designers to create media such as infographics, audio, and video around large and topical datasets.

Previously:

  • Founding Editor, KoPoint Inc (2012): KoPoint produced podcasts and radio programs around industry verticals, specifically politics and technology. KoPoint, Inc was funded by SumAll.com and The Talk Radio News Service, and was commissioned with creating content from key technology and political events such as the 2012 presidential primaries and conventions, and the SXSi technolgy conference. Through 2012 KoPoint sold advertising against podcast inventory.
  • Digital Managing Editor of Campaign Content, Talk Radio News (2012): During periods of the 2012 presidential campaign (debates, early primaries, conventions) I produced and edited content, and managed a team of young reporters and interns. The TRNS digital team created content for the web (podcasts, video, blog posts) and broadcast radio (short-form packages).
  • Digital Platform Manager, ABC News Radio (2008 – 2011): I built successful digital platforms that served both news affiliate stations and the general public. I also reported on consumer technology.

Background: I worked my way up to general manager of my college radio station, KBHU, from 1998 – 2002. * From the fall of 2000 through the fall of 2001 I worked as a weekend broadcaster for Haugo Broadcasting. During my sophomore and junior years of college, I interned for Capitol Records.
