Taking comedy and politics on Beer Diplomacy with @HeyItsLiam and @Baratunde

Commencing D&D Month 2 – “A Deeper Madness” using Roll20.net and Hangouts with old friends.

I’m really excited about bringing The Murdoc Jones Show to KoPoint. The host – Murdoc – is a true FM rock radio pro. He’s also one of my oldest friends. We’ve been making content together and butting heads since our days in college radio, at KBHU FM.
Murdoc is also a fearless jock. His morning drive talksets were legendary in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. We all should be terrified of what he’ll do sans FCC restrictions on a podcast.
Anyway, I’m really proud of this show and am excited to see how it evolves.
Rock.

Host: Murdoc Jones
About the Show: Murdoc Jones used to be somebody: a morning drive DJ on the biggest rocknroll radio station in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota! Now, he hosts a podcast.

The Comic Book Podcast is the KoPoint program closest to my heart. It’s one of the few Season One programs to really evolve and become something with a unique identity.
Recording this show has been difficult as we’re all mad busy and really care about making something more than just another comic book show. But I think we’ve found a really cool balance and I’m looking forward to doing this show again on a regular basis.
Rock.

A History of Christmas | Quentin Lewis
In which anthropologist and friend of KoPoint, Quentin Lewis, tells us about the history of Christmas:
Merry Christmas all! Today I present—Quentin’s Quick History of Christmas. This podcast is a bit different from my usual fare, and it’s longer, but hopefully entertaining.
A few shownotes:
All of this information comes from Steve Nissenbaum’s amazing, Pulitzer nominated “The Battle for Christmas”, one of the best pieces of social and cultural history I have ever read.
Much of the music came from the various recordings of Nowell Sing We Clear, whose records you can buy at Golden Hind Music.
I’ve also included clips from A Charlie Brown Christmas, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Family Ties, Twas the Night Before Christmas by Rankin/Bass, and:
Carl Dellinger’s recitation of the Cherryville Shooter’s Chant
Elton John’s recitation of “A Visit from St. Nickolas”
